So it's 2014. Some of you may be wondering what's been happening with that last deck of cards, the one that's going to be a collection of wonderful art miniatures from many Island artists.

There's been progress. A little. I diverted my attention late last year to get the Trains deck done in time for holiday giving, which rather stalled the Art Deck. Even so, we do have five more cards. Here is a look at the current status:

Thank-you to Marlybaa for the Ration Pack, and to Kew for The Magpie! I've been plugging away, too, adding Invisisuit, Stonehenge, and ChainsawChuks. The total now adds up to 35 cards finished, out of 72.

However. We need more art! And artists! So I'm putting up a MoTD, and also asking here. If you've already promised some art, then (poke, poke) what are you waiting for? And if you'd like to get involved, or if you know someone who'd like to but is being shy... contact me!

I actually plan to spend this week knocking some real life assignments back and getting a few of the cards done sooner rather than later. It's not like I'm sketching in the middle of class or anything...

I'm really looking forwards to seeing the art everyone else is gonna do.

That was in 2013.

I am a terrible art director because I am no good at browbeating artists, especially when many of our fine artists need to rely on commissions and I'm asking them to do this for free, for the Island. But we've all been plugging away. Every little bit helped, and the end is now in sight! Would you believe... ready for holiday wish lists in 2015?

I now have art for all but four of the cards. This deck is going to be, no other word for it, awesome.
