Anyone know a free and simple graphics program that saves things as JPG and lets you edit them down to pixels? (If there even is such a thing- I've no clue.) I'm using ms Paint, and converting things always distorts the colors and blurs the lines.

Sai, Paint.Net, or GIMP, perhaps? I used Paint.Net a long time back, and multiple roommates have sworn by Sai. Every time someone says "I'd like Photoshop but can't afford it and don't want to pirate it," someone brings up GIMP. I guess I'm that someone this time.

Pixlr is also a good online image manipulation program. Vaguely similar to PS.

GIMP is awesome, though.

Isn't sanity just a one-trick pony anyway? All you get is one trick: rational thinking. But when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, the sky's the limit.
