This message was heard in Every outpost. The date and time recorded are when it was broadcast in NewHome. The source is currently unknown.

[04/28 12:34am] The speakers in the nearby Comms Tent crackle to life with a burst of static. A distorted yet clear, feminine voice can be heard. Though the delivering is halting, the tone is fierce. ”Contestants-- No, citizens! Listen, please!”
[04/28 12:34am] ”We let the Network soothe us with the promise of fame and the illusion of choice! The Island is an amazing frontier but the Network is using it and us for their gain! We can’t be complacent toward our captivity to mindless entertainment!”
[04/28 12:34am] ”Fight against status quo! Shatter cameras! Rebel against ratings! Our lives don’t have to be drafted into profit! Improbability is a cage and a weapon! The Network is not the only power on the Island!” The broadcast fizzles, then static.

Sounds like we have revolutionaries on our hands. Any ideas who Question Theories, perhaps?

Ashtu or Milo Chinasky

Isn't sanity just a one-trick pony anyway? All you get is one trick: rational thinking. But when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, the sky's the limit.

Did they say "illusion of choice"? I was beaten over the head with a big stick and shoved in a sack as I recall. If that's "illusion of choice", then I wouldn't like to experience the "illusion of no choice whatsoever" that's for sure.

Who cares? I think everyone on the Island is revolting.*

Actually, Ashtu's been busy catching up on some reading - Trotsky, Chairman Mao, etc. Not his fault. This time, anyway.

Thank you.

And my meds have kicked in, and I say it's an uprising of all jellyfish and flying barrels that want the show off the air so they can watch 'The Des Moines Shore' on their amphibious tinfoil televisions. To stop these rebellious cnidarians and winged containers, we must do the macarena whist tap dancing in the light of a full harvest sun. This will alienate their telepathic squid-phones so they cannot call in the Lamp Armada to drop their radioactive rubber chickens.

Oh, absolutely! I understand, however, that large parts of his writings were crayon on toilet paper.

Thank you.

I know who, but I can't be saying anything about that now, can I? I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Eek!

Might be time to up the dosage ... just a tad.

Mind you, the "macarena whist" (sic) did elicit a curious mental picture.

I wonder who could be responsible for such villainy? Surely a rapscallion of the highest order!

Definitely not the first time anyone's tried to do something like this (and certainly more plot driven!). It has squandered much of my time. Frown
