Everyone should try this out! The feedback messages are very fun.

My assessment of it as an actual strategy is: the jury's still out. I'll know better in a few days.

But definitely worth trying just to watch what it says, because it's funny!

Will do, Beeker, as soon as I can manage to get to Pleasantville.

Just learned them!
Looking forward to the classy ones!
Once I'm no longer a robot....
Though, to work on crude, or confusing.....

Anyone with Monkey Island experience, where would you place the infamous Insult Swordfighting in these three categories?

It's been a while since I played a MI game, but I would say classy. You get them really worked up while staying aloof and not resorting to petty insults. "The Gentleman's Insult" says I.

Wonderful, all this. Strategically it's a bit sketchy here and there, but I like it a lot and see plenty of potential for fun in it.

Well, golly, it's a lot of gosh darned fun! (You'll excuse me if I'm all out of swears.)

But seriously, I love this. It doesn't seem to be adding a huge benefit for me, but neither is it much of a negative. We'll see what it's like at higher levels and if it's worth the stamina cost. The stamina cost for me the player is negligible. It's just as easy to push the 'o' key as it is to push the 'f' key. The enjoyment I'm getting is immense. This makes me actually want PvP. Big thanks to CMJ and all others involved with writing and play testing this. A fantastic addition.

Personally, I'd like the Insults to be an on/off thing so that we could still use the 5, 10, and To The Death buttons. I am already sick of pushing the insult button every round and I've only been doing it one day. I don't do much Targeted Fighting for the same reason. But overall, I like the insults.

Love this, I really do.

Classy insults are bloody hilarious, they really are. Especially when someone like KK spouts them out at someone.

It adds another interesting dimension to the combat, and it can keep you alive quite a bit if you're lucky.

Yeah, the Classy insults array I pretty well just lifted directly from one of my prior projects.

As a way to mix it up a little, maybe introduce different formats for the insults? I understand it's a new feature and all, and this would be very low on the list of the priorities, but I've been using the thing quite a lot and I'm already seeing a lot of repetition. The adjectives and nouns don't even need to be changed, really, just the order in which the words are presented.

What does it take to be able to learn the classic insults?
Is it a question of getting enough levels with the coarse and confusing, or is it getting through a DK or what?

Yeah, I believe it is ten for each one, then leave the school and walk back in.

Some others have reported different times, Sessine had fourteen and fourteen, Beeker had quite a lot in Confusing and not so much in Coarse, as I understand it, (Beeker, if that's untrue, correct me please, right?)

I had ten in coarse and fourteen in confusing when I was able to get it.

Totally awesome. It's a very, very nice feature, and a definite addition to the game's value.

Yup, that's correct. Wasn't paying too close attention, but it was maybe 12 in Confusing and maybe 2 in Coarse, something like that. I wasn't really watching for it, because I had predicted it would be something moderate in each, like 10 and 10. Wasn't, though!

Means you can concentrate on one kind, as I did, and still have classy open up. Which I am glad of!

Could we, perchance, get Ronsen-kiai moved above Inventory on the Fight screens?
I'd prefer it above Targetting (along with a reorginization of the Stamina/skills window), but that's a lesser annoyance.

Hey, CMJ. Are you sure that higher levels are making the negative results show up less often?
It doesn't seem that way to me. But maybe my perception is just skewed. We're talking level 97ish Classy Insults here.
