I am very curious to know how foebots work since I am exploring Down Below for the foreseeable future.
I believe HP is basically Level*100 with some sort of deviation.
If I recall correctly the attack and defense is level^2 and spread between attack and defense in some manner?
Also, how was the pathfinding programmed?
Speaking off the cuff here, it seems to me like the pathfinding is something like "pick randomly from the available of {left, forward, right}, else go backward".
In the design doc, the Foebots would chase you around the maze once they'd caught sight of you. During testing they moved randomly - there were wonderful moments of tension where you would come to a junction with a Foebot around the corner, and not know whether it was gonna get you or not. Then I made the pathfinding routine and lost all those moments of uncertainty, and it wasn't nearly as fun. So I tossed the pathfinding and let them move randomly again, but put more Foebots in to compensate.
