A few random thoughts on the marriage system in game. Just my random thoughts, remember, only take them seriously if you have anything to add.

Thought the First,
When getting a divorce, there should be an extra confirmation screen, just so people don't accidentally annul their marriages.

Thought the Second,
I think the buffs should vary slightly. Of course, this could mean fun new text about what exactly you did in the in last night that made you emerge positively glowing, or why you're so resistant to pain lately, or ready to dish out pain to anything you encounter.

Thought the Third,
I think that dwellings should be shared without need for wasting a key. People who are married generally live together. You're not exactly going to lock your wife out of your flat (or maybe you will, people are strange things).

Thought the Fourth,
This is supposed to be improbable island. How improbable is it that one would propose to a monster in the jungle? How improbable is it that the monster would accept? Exactly. Marrying the Monster Magpie is much more appealing than marrying that bastard Seth. It even has a successful career.

Thought the Fifth,
Polygamy? We already have a rancid midget brothel, why can't we have a few Mormons? (Terribly sorry to all you Mormons, or Mormon affiliates, who read this and are offended. That's just how stereotypes go.)

Thought the Sixth,
Wouldn't it be interesting if once you were of a certain number of drive kills or a certain level of skill you could be literally married to your work? (Assuming the whole jobs module goes smoothly, and you want to take a wooden work bench equivalent to bed every night.)

Right, that well pretty sums up the more acceptable quarter of my thoughts on the marriage thing.

Just one thing;
For the monster marriges, could multiple people be married to the same monster?
Because if so, just imagine how many propositions Horatio will have within a matter of minutes.

Horatio is currently the most popular bachelor on the island. Besides, multiple people are married to certain monsters already (a fickle bar wench and a bastard bard).

Uh, Rosin?

This. Sorry.

(and that doesn't even start to cover nonhuman marriages...)

They were just some random thoughts I had. Most things called 'random thoughts' are irrelevant to anything that will actually happen.

In other words, I tend to just say random things to think about in the Enquirer which will never make it into the game. They're mostly to think about and occasionally laugh over.

Seconding at least Thought the First Exclaimation and Thought the Third (while it should be possible to retrieve the key from the partner if he/she/it's been a bad he/she/it. Or if there is just a Girls or Boys Only dwelling.). Second would be interesting as well...

Also @CMJ:
What if one considered inanimate objects (shoes, for example)? Would it be possible to marry two couples of shoes to each other, if assuming each pair consists of twins? While each pair is itself married to their wearer, one of whom is coindicially married to the factory they are manufactured in (the shoe's mother)?

Well, in case of Zombie Apocalypse, please contact the players of "Improbable Island". They will provide sustenance that the zombies will love. Via use of others.

And, in case of Robot Apocalypse, do the same. Logically Illogical Logic seems to be prevalent. And will freeze up many a system.

S2/3 Events? Anyone?

We could do a Theatre of the Oppressed staging of it as well, with the Jokers presiding.

That would be fun, would it not? *might use that idea soon*

To CMJ:

Marrying monsters and your job would be too damn difficult, I agree (with my vast knowledge of programming Rolling Eyes ). But would polygamy really be unfeasible?
