A lot of people on here are amazing artists, or make amazing things, and I thought it might be nice if we did a trade of goods/services. It's like presents in the mail, which is always nice.
Zoo: makes earrings, bracelets, necklaces, crochets flowers for brooches or hair doodads, makes felt bacon action figures, knits potholders, makes lip balms, hand salves, body scrubs, and an assortment of other things.
I would be willing to arrange and facilitate this whole thing if anyone is interested, just lemme know what you make or do, and we'll go from there.
We could just post a bunch of things and people could barter for them, or we could just say everyone makes a thingy and sends it to someone else on a list or whatever.
Interested?

I can make small pendants with stone and wire or I can edit photos, I'm a little limited in skills but if anybody's interested in what I have I'd be happy to Join.

What a lovely idea!
I'd be happy to join. I can knit or crochet pretty much anything (although I do have a preference for lace), and can do basic weaving (pretty much limited to scarves and rugs). I also make beaded jewelry, mostly bracelets.

Yeah, I can be in on this. I'm a fabric guy, I do hats, scarves, and most kinds of fantasy/medieval garb. I can also do relatively simple leather work, and make LARP weapons of the 'more functional than pretty' variety.

Not as many people as I'd have hoped have tossed their hat in the ring already, but how do we want to go about the swappage? Do we want a theme, and then I pair you with people, or do people just want to state what they'd like, or what?
I personally think it'd be fun if lotsa people participated, and we did a swap every few months or so, like with the theme... Purple. Then you'd send something purple to the person you are exchanging with that time, and how you wanted to interpret that is up to you.
Or I could just pair people and they could work out a swap on their own?
I am open to suggestions. And I do have international interest, as well as people who are inclined to just do stuff online.
Aer, you're welcome to do musical things. It's art.

So I am thinking of keeping this swap open until the 15th (US, CST), involvement-wise, then getting it under way.
So far we have:
Zoo
Eliza (expressed interest in distractions)
Nixxie (expressed interest in distractions)
Aer
JonT
Kuroko
Kay
Clayton41
Sorrell - she bakes coooookies
I'd like to see this around a dozen or more people by the 15th. Get your friends involved! More friends = more selection!
I think people who are good at online arts would be more than welcome to join in. Make digital arts!

I would like to join! I draw, paint, and am starting to make small jewelry items. I can also do small sculptures. I like the periodic theme idea.

We're up to ten people now!
So the theme is Yummy Summer.
Intrepret that however you want...
Things you think are yummy, and summer, whatever direction your fancy takes you. Do one! Do both!
I did a photo thing a few years ago around the holidays, where there was a daily submission theme, like Warm. I submitted a photo of my toes peeping out of a warm blanket. Someone else posted a picture of a dog sleeping in front of a fireplace, someone else had a cup of steaming cocoa. All warm things,
A blue necklace like the summer sky? A yellow hat like the sun? Vanilla bathbombs? A watercolor of the beach? Cupcake earrings? Wind chimes? Watermelon drink coasters? Whatever tickles your fancy.
A mix of the best summer jams? An avatar drawing wearing summer finery? Flower hairpins? Whatever!
So we can do this one of two ways.
1) We pair up, and do an exchange. like A &B swap, C &D swap, etc.
OR
2) We just do it in a list, passing it along to the next person. A sends to B, B sends to C, C sends to D, etc.

I think we should do the second option, just pass in a circle.

I'm just gonna add here that a) I don't care how we pair up, and b) I just made a larger batch than I thought of chocolate-chip-cookie-dough baklava. And I'd be so happy to share.

May I request I don't get selected to send something to Katie or vice versa since we see each other and give each other things already?
