How do my fellow contestants roleplay? What is your character's history and backstory? And how similar is your character's personality to your own?

In a mostly amusing way, odd, and in utterly bewildering juxtaposition, to answer the questions.

My character essentially is me, with some alterations. So his actions are based on how I would handle the situation. As for backstory...that's a secret for now.

Lorenzo, you already probably know enough about mine. She's a bitch.
But she's mostly like I am. Even down to the cowboy boots. And the mood swings.
[Actually, she's a little insecure, which makes perfect sense.]
Rem on the other hand, is alot nicer than my contestant, usually willing to help out any 'Fries' who seem like they need it. Plus, he has more of an interesting backstory.
Being an OC though, his backstory has been in the workings since...September I think [when he actually became a permanent one, and not just a doodle].
I actually kind of like being able to switch between either one, keeps me from being in a sore mood if my normal contestant gets mad and Fuzzy takes over. It adds to the fun factor too.

Sessine's backstory was an integral part of a major storyline involving Zolotisty, the wind, and an alternate version of himself... I keep meaning to do a better bio for the Wiki and then getting diverted to other projects, but a lot of it is in the article Consequences.
He does reflect my own personality to some extent -- impossible to avoid that. But he is himself. While I can identify with him and feel his emotions, I can also draw back and think about him as a writer would: when there are choices open to him, when I can make a case for him reacting to a situation in several possible ways, I ask myself, which of the paths would lead to a better story?* And, sometimes, aiming for a better story modifies who he is and what options are open to him. A good story really requires the main character to have learned something by the time it's over.
Sessine has learned quite a bit in his time on the Island. He's not done yet -- he still has a lot more to learn.**
--
* Or to a better atmosphere on the Island generally. As moderator, his goal is to try to keep the place fun for everyone.
** Including, apparently, how to knit. Pity Zolotisty, who will eventually be presented with that 'sweater' he's 'knitting'.

Rosin is essentially me with few a few small deviations*. A lot of what I do with the roleplaying part of the game is influenced by what happens to me in real life, and you'll never see me with an instrument I can't actually play on the island.
*Alright, I admit that I can't actually cook two hundred pans of brownies in thirty minutes, but I do know how to cook almost all those recipes. Including the chocolate chips, pecans, and cherries.

I've to say quite simply, KK's a refined version of everything that I respect above all else, mixed with what I hate more than anything.
Though to keep me enjoying playing him, he's got quirks I relate too.
The cooking, the dogs, the love of playing games, and the love of solving problems.
He's also got the same love of trying just about anything he's presented with that I've got.
Ever have wasabi with icecream on pizza?

My character IS me, in many ways. Like myself, he has a very blunt and somewhat naive personality. He is also very opinionated, as most of you have seen. He's not usually trying to be an asshole, but he is interpreted as such. He loves to play music, and is quite skilled at playing the double bass. He is everything I am and also everything I wish I was. He is also quite fond of food and drink, sometimes to excess, and is also an average cook.

It's like when you were a child Bernard, way back in 2030, pretending you were born in the 1970's or 80's.

"No idea."
But KK does distinctly remember some form of Roleplaying in Bernard's teacher days when Zolotisty and KK were his students. That was... Just plan creepy. KK shivers, repressing that memory once more.

Tor is, in a lot of ways, what I would like to be. I've been role playing for over 30 years in one form or another, but Tor is definitely one of the most 'fun' characters I have portrayed. He is still, at heart, a work of fiction, though. Mostly, I hope that my portrayal provides some joy and entertainment to the community here.

Most of my characters have some part of my personality in them, usually highlighting that bit. My current just happens to be my more playful and mischievous side. It's quite jumbled, as seen by the wiki. And random.

No, once or twice I said "I feel old" after remembering all that's gone on since I've arrived. That's a far cry from complaining about aching joints and youth these days.
Bernard, on the other hand, actually acts old.

Ok, since it's already been exposed to half the world that I'm just such a big softy, your portrayal does provide hours of sappy entertainment. Good job, keep it up.

Right, so why am I the one called old man, when I'm clearly not?
