I have an island to myself! Huzzah! This is wonderful, if mildly isolating, but I shall do my best to represent the four million persons in This Fine Country.
Being New Zealand, of course.

An island to yourself? Isn't that two islands to yourself? And that of course isn't counting Stewart Island or a host of even smaller islands. Actually, even though I'm English myself, that was where I was living when I first joined the Island some years ago.
And yes, it's a cool place.

Awesome. Where were you?
And... yes. Yes it is. I suppose I should've said country. Beh.

I was in Auckland, although I did manage to find a little time to have a look round other parts of NZ. I spent about a total of a fortnight in Wellington, and a couple of days each in Dunedin and Christchurch. And about a week and a half slowly coming up the west coast of South Island. Loved it all.
So where are you? I had a look at the map, but it seems that you've placed yourself in the middle of the sea about 50 miles north of Wellington. I'm guessing that that you live somewhere a tad drier than that, actually in Wellington itself?

The South Island is beautiful, yes. Auckland's definitely an interesting place to be, if a bit too metropolitan- I'm naturally biased, because I think Wellington is gorgeous and really encapsulates NZ culturally and, y'know, in terms of architecture and atmosphere. But never mind that, NZ is fabulous. Other than the earthquakes, like the ones taking down Christchurch recently. What were you doing in Auckland, anyhow?

I, er, oh. Crapadoodles. You didn't know? Sorry- I'm part-fish. My great-grandmother was a turbot. You get excellent reception in Wellington harbour if you remember to keep your laptop in a plastic bag.

Well I'm quite a town dweller myself, so that's not so bad, but it would have been nice to have a bit more time in Wellington. Well there you go, you don't always get what you want.
I was at university there. AU to be precise, studying maths, because it's beautiful.

Well, I was in the middle of nowhere. Now I'm in the middle of the biggest city.

Thanks, Dizzy. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how, and wouldn't for the death of me ask.

Totally missed the chance to say, "How's it goin', eh?" first. But for how many canucks are on, there's still a bunch missing from the map, I think.
