Hey, guys - this is a work-in-progress, but I'm telling you about it now anyway 'cause I have to go off and tinker with some other things. It should be more firmly fixed-in tomorrow, with filtering and nicer sorting and suchlike.

For now, if you want to go to http://improbableisland.com/runmodule.php?module=friends in a new window, it'll show you a list of currently online players sorted by the time of their last hit on the server (in British time for now - it'll be a relative timestamp when we're done).

In case you're wondering, no, the friends list in the charstats column isn't coming back. It involves far too much overhead.

I've been waiting all season for that to come back. It's an extremely useful application.

Deserializing an array of friends and checking the last online time (and another serialized pref) for each Friend online at every pageload just doesn't work, mate. Sorry, but you'll just have to click the "Friends Online" link if you want to see which of your friends are online.

Hmn, but we already have one of these..? If you go to 'List Contestants,' it tells you who is on and where they are. (Along with Race, Worthiness and maybe Gender, don't know off the top of my head.) ETA: Granted, that doesn't show 'time last active.'

But! This will be useful if you can filter it! Yes!

You do have to be logged-in.

Yeah mate, I was logged in. Even tried to use a different web browser.

Still timed out, logged in in both accounts as well.

You using a whole new browser window, or just a tab? I've not tried it in a whole new window yet. The only way you'd be logged out in one window and logged in in another is if one window didn't hold the session cookie that keeps you logged in.

I tried both the tab and new window; none of them work.

I still have to wonder what that list looks like.

Seemed to work for me last night.

Firefox. Was on an older version, not my computer. However, checking it right now on my computer, up-to-date Firefox, using it in another tab, it's working.

At least, I assume just showing a list of online people means it's working.

Tested again, separate tab, newest Firefox version. No results. Er, same results.

It does work for me (Opera 10 on a Xubuntu laptop)... new windows and new tabs alike.

So the problem would be with Internet Explorer... or with male contestants.

I have the Eight edition (or the most recent). Maybe it's a compatibility error.

Not just Internet explore, Firefox for me too mate.
