Get a +1 flaming Bastard, melt 'im down, and forge a sword out of him. I don't think there's any magma on the island, though... I wouldn't say that. There is a mountainous region. Could be a volcano somewhere in there. It isn't in the official records, of course, but there is indeed volcanic activity in the mountains. Ah, I wouldn't recommend going and investigating though, last time a pointy goat went looking, he didn't come back. >.> Ahem. That may be my fault. At one point I had a bag of volcano seeds, but I seem to have mislaid them...

Of course there is a volcano there. Quite active, too. Why do you think the planes with crates stopped coming for a while, heh?

No, lava spewed straight up out of the volcano, and then fell straight back down into it, only to come back up again...

*patpat* I had seen what you did there. You didn't mention anything about solving all of the problems in this thread by using magma, though. Rather short-bearded of you.

You... you actually added a bastard rank? You bastard! I was done! I retired! I was gonna work on the windmill and slaughter the odd titan and that would be it!
Now there's that bloody 0 at the top where the huge number used to be and I, I... *sobs*

Nah - looking at the pattern of monster atk/def increases, if I were to actually go with R8,9,10 & 11 before Bastard Rank, then the monsters would be somewhere along the lines of a thousand times harder. We want people to actually be able to perform a Bastard Rank drive kill, albeit with immense difficulty.

There's a pattern to monster difficulty? I always picture a chart of the ranks like this.
Rank 1: Only tough if you're a Rookie and you act recklessly
Rank 2: Chainsaw is your best friend. Better get some of the shoes and gloves, just in case
Rank 3: Ow. That monster did a number on me. Better get back to Hospital Tent. Repeat.
Rank 4: Better start using those timed attacks more frequently.
Rank 5: Introducing your new best friend: the Plasma Gun.
Rank 6: Random close calls with surprise attacks of 200+ damage.
Rank 7: Be prepared to curse out your computer because this game CHEATS!
Bastard: *throws computer out of third story window in a foamy rage*
I make the many models of a mutant individual. To make them I use vegetables, animals, and minerals. From robot bugs to zombie bears to many singing barnacles.

And there's a monster whose name is going to have to change...
What's worse than Bastard?

The rank eight monster was pretty funny too.
Maybe the Inglorious Basterd is worse than Bastard rank? *rimshot*
Sorry. Yeah, I loved that movie.

You have encounted Bernard Rank which lunges at you with Many Hilarious Characters.
You fight a saint, a biker, a grandpa, an uncle, a luchalibre, a possessed maid, and a group of kids with a dog.
Yeah, that works.

Let's keep to that, for the sake of decency. Else it would have as much text as the Moose... And there'd still be a need to update from time to time.
I am for it.
Yes, I have a dream, of electronic sheeps and linen bedsheets. But that's not the point. Or isn't it?

Guys, flattered as I am to be mentioned - I would have hoped Bernard rank would be an amiable saunter through the jungle. Not really fighting, unless it was with people trying to push in in queues, groups of hoodies, curtain-twitching neighbours, loud music and advancing senility. Would you all mind reconsidering?

There, i fixed it.

Thank you.

Why withdraw? I would like a Rank Bernard that is an amiable saunter... would be nice for serious role-players and people who want to work on a Dwelling for a while. Or crate-hunt for a bigger hat or whatever.
