Oh, you poor, poor commercial people... so dependent on the markets and all.
I've been rich* and I've been poor.
Rich is better.
-- * In the game! In RL I'm still waitin'.
Myself and my character are of the opinion that simple is better, so as long as being rich isn't complicated, it's better. For example, Kash gets all his building supply (req for steaks and cigs for kits) from simple Jungle fights on the days in between building days, plus enough that when he wants to break the usual cycle to take care of other things, he can fall right back into it without any trouble.
I.e. it's only "better" for a certain portion of the available playstyles. My style, which is heavily RP-based, is not significantly improved by being overwhelmed with cash, so it's not per se Better to have anything more than a sufficient income. In fact, the times that I am worried about req growth (which is pretty much limited to my infrequent visits to Deimos) are generally more boring and stressful than the times that I'm lazing about, working on the dugout and killing time.
