I love dismembering my fallen enemies, skinning them, cutting them up into bite-sized chunks and slowly sauteing them with garlic and a bit of sage. As an Umbilical Culinary Specialist my tastes in meat run strictly to the Tasty and Half-OK stuff. No crap.

At these higher levels the monsters encountered can produce a lot of good tasty meat ... and a lot of fatty, grisly, smelly, sickly sinew and this presents a bit of a problem.

I would like to dig a small hole and dump the crap into it en masse, cover it with some dirt, some leaves and a few twigs and bury the stenchy stuff in the ground thus causing no offense to the little creatures in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately, I cannot do this. I must reach into my backpack with my, ick, hand and one-by-one extract each piece of disgusting crap and toss it into the jungle.

I find this is not good for the ecology nor for my mouse finger since, at times, I have 25+ globs of yellow, snotty putrefaction to discard and are thus scattered from left to right, north to south all around the grid and, sadly, resulting in a smelly and achy index finger.

The suggestion is to have a "discard all" selection in the menu for those items of multiple quantities in the backpack. This would obviate those occasions of repeatedly redundant repetitious discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard, discard ... with a single "git rid of this shit" or "discard all this crap" type of selection. One scroll/click vs scroll/click, scroll/click, scroll/click, scroll/click, scroll/click ... well, you get the idea.

This seems like such a small thing, yet having been on the programming side I understand that some of these seemingly small items have a tendency to be much more complex than they appear. Please do give this some consideration. No hurry here. This afternoon would be fine.

Thank you munchly,

-P

Or if there were a "Select all of this items" button, so I could put all my WHOOMPH grenades into my bandoleer at once.

honestly, I'd like this feature with EVERYTHING. No, I don't want to sell my seventeen ZAP grenades one at a time, I want to sell them in bulk!

Or, a step further, have these opinions:

Repeat last [x] actions [y] times.
Repeat last [x] actions until impossible.

available for everything, as their own special little panel.

([x] would, presumably, default to one)

I'm slooooowly rolling out my do-lots-of-things-in-one-click features as it becomes obvious which features are most necessary and most used.
(you should have seen Dwellings, before Places - one click per building or decorating action, baby!)
But this one's going to be problematic, since eBoy's prices are adjusted every time you buy or sell something. He could calculate his prices and give you a confirmation for the bulk price, I suppose...

Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with cherries and whipped cream and diamonds on top?

Similarly, I would love a "select 10 of this item" or similar. The case: I have roughly 1600 stone in one dwelling. I want a large amount of it somewhere else. That's a lot of clicks one at a time, and I would rather not pick up 1600 of it at once...

You should definitely design it so that you buy multiple eBoy's items for a single price x number of items. The whole point of the buying/selling game is to be able to turn a profit, and it's easier to do that if you have a mechanic that rewards buying bulk. Selling might be different, though.

Now that I think about it, selling in Bulk, realistically would net you the same price in real life, would it not? I'd think that it'd make more sense to have it stay at the price, but change dramatically after a bulk sale.

It may be realistic, but it won't work at all. Consider the following situation:

Full Metal Loin(The writer of he advice column, definitely not associated with any other players whose name may or may not be similar) got himself a million or two requisition through crates, Titans, interest, exploits, gambling, and begging others for one-shot teleporters. Then he immediately got to the outpost with the lowest number of one shot teleporters. he bought them one by one for an increasing price. The very last teleporter cost him three hundred thousand requisition. Then he sold all of his teleporters in bulk for about a quarter million each then rinsed and repeated. In two weeks, he was renowned for being the first person with a size ten-billion hat and the richest person in the history of the Island.

That is a pack of blatant lies! I know for a fact that he legitimately earned that Req through bank-robbery, and he only spent it on fancy suits and fine Kittanian wines.

Regardless, your point stands.

I see what you're saying about the game's formula, but that's a fault of the fact that the game can generate money out of thin air (and similarly drain it out). Now I see that it would have to be changed (the stores would all need finite amounts of money or else they can't sell, or whatever it is, but it's still much more complex than the current setup.) Valid point, Omega. (Although then again, maybe each eBoy should have a memory of how much money he gained in one day and can't buy items if that value is below 0. That would also make the whole game a buying economy, rather than selling.)

But let me put it this way: the way the game is currently set up, you can't really make "deals" or negotiate for prices. The only way is to play the buying/selling game. As it stands, the only way that works right now is for you to go to a place that already has a very high supply, and bring that stuff to a place that has very low supply (and therefore high demand). And that's it. The profit that you make off of doing this is usually very tame unless you've done something like buy 8000 Nicotine Patches and DK with them, then take another city's 10-req supply and sell at the former city's eBoy's for a very high price (*cough*).

I feel like something should be done to make it more interesting.
