So as everyone with more then 10 drive kills knows, you can fight multiple monsters. I was thinking that although boss monsters would be a interesting idea, I'd like to see the multiple monsters idea expanded upon.
I envision that it could work like this:
10dks : multiple monsters up to 3
20dks: mm up to 5
30dks: mm up to 7
...
and so on increasing by 2 every ten drive kills. So that at level 110 you could fight up to 21 monsters.
Glory Points awarded for this fight: 0
You have defeated The Watcher!
You receive 1377 Requisition!
You receive 20193 experience!

All the multi-monster stuff is baked into the core. Altering the number is possible, by editing the $enemies array when the fight is fired, possibly via an AI script. My Creature Targets module works in a similar way, albeit only focusing on one particular monster.
However, given that we're gonna be having a lot more Boss Monsters in S2, I'm tempted to tone down the chances of getting a multi-monster fight. This is probably something we're gonna have to do a fair bit of playtesting with.

If there is the possibility of seeing that many monsters in a fight, I would suggest also adding some way to heal, at least small amounts, during the fight.
As amply demonstrated by the implant 5-point ability that summons a horde of "furry little helpers" that do only 2-3 points of damage each (can't recall which implant that is right now), which can take down the Drive (with 1000+ HP) in one go without the player even needing to unholster his weapon, getting hit many times — even with small amounts of damage — can lead to almost instant death. I forsee the multi-monster fights reaching a certain number, at which level players start dropping out of the game after getting insta-killed every time a group of monsters wins initiative.
