And since it is so awesome, it would therefore also be awesome to have a Halloween event on the Island. Such as...

Trick or treating around the various clan halls and inns,
Costume parties within clans or in town squares,
Short Halloween plot adventures in town or map squares,
Games like bobbing for apples with an Island twist,
Spooky pranks and tricks using /special (fun, not malicious, guys)

And so on. I think it would be fun if we could get clans involved in this, perhaps hosting activities or handing out tricks n' treats to people who knock on their clan door. Sessine pointed out that a clever way to do costume parties would be to start all your comments with :Whatever Your Costume Is. IE

Is this actually the kind of event anyone would be interested in? And does anyone else want to contribute ideas, or get their clan involved?

Ooooh, yes! Yes yes yes! I want, very muchly. At the minimum we could have a costume party in IC, or somesuch. But yes! Halloween is my favorite, and I think this all sounds like a grand idea.

-- I like the ideas of events. Maybe since the Islympics got canceled, Clans would like to come up with Halloween events instead. At least, they could come up with something to "add" to the holiday: Food, Decorations, Candy (candy, and more candy), costumes (some people might need costume-help!)

Hey, Skidge. These people all joined after last year's Halloween. Nobody who was there has forgotten it. I guarantee. NOBODY. ...Not even Gorbert, who slept through the whole thing!

Without dwellings this year, any Halloween events will have to take place in the open. All the chat spaces can have things happening... there's lots of scope. I'm thinking New Pittsburgh ought to be properly haunted with /specials...

And Reverb, that's what I was thinking, actually. That Skidge's Halloween costume is taken to heart.

You're damn right, Skidge's Halloween party is one of the few things I remember from way back then. I came dressed as the Improbability Drive!

And changed costumes after being beaten severely several times

There were Imps flitting about serving refreshments, and Zolotisty and Sessine (and...someone else?) were putting on a play.

And I wanted to meet Skidge, who I had seen around, for the first time but she wasn't there and then she disappeared. Sad

Oh, man, something Halloweenie would be awesome. I'm all for the "clans take over outposts" idea. And costumes.

Awesomeee, looks like good feedback. I'll take on the daunting task of Distracting clan leaders this weekend to ask if they'll want to plan an event. What does everyone think of having Halloween activities span over two or three days, so that everyone has a chance to participate? And, say, if Clan A can't host in an Outpost because they're all filled up, they can do it on a different day.

Setting up booths around the Island for trick-or-treating would be a fun way to go about it. We could also make use of the clan hall waiting room to knock on doors, but that might get kind of crowded and confused. Any other thoughts on what you guys would like to see?

And of course, to save on Outpost space, certain clans could host events on chat spaces in the wilderness.
